The State Archives of the Grisons constitute the memory of the Canton of the Grisons and its legal predecessors, first and foremost the Free State of the Three Leagues. The State Archives are open to the public and access is free of charge. The Archives' mission and activities are governed by the Cantonal Law on Records Management and Archiving from 28. August 2015 and its associated Ordinance of 12. December 2015. The State Archives are part of the Cantonal Office for Culture, within the Department of Education, Culture and Environmental Protection (EKUD) of the Canton of Graubünden.
